Lodging in Oxford
Can anyone recommend a B&B in Oxford. We'd love it to be centrally located, and it's just for 2 adults. Thanks.

We stayed here http://www.oxfordcity.co.uk/accom/newton/
for 4 nights several years ago. We have probably stayed in better B & B's - bigger rooms, bathrooms etc but this was very good, very clean, owners pleasant and helpful and it was brilliantly located. It was recommended by people we know who live and work in Oxford.
Depending on time of year, you might look into staying at one of the colleges.
Don't have any B&B recommendations, but if you're ready to splurge, my work colleagues love Malmaison. Another Favorite is the Randolph. Most recently, when there for business, I stayed at the Four Pillars, Oxford Spires. I was there for a sales meeting and in a lot of ways this hotel was like a hotel I would stay at in the US for a similar meeting. But, it's got a beautiful park, a good breakfast and is in easy walking distance of downtown. Even with my bum knew I got around.

I live in Oxford so have never needed holiday accommodation here and I can't think of many B&Bs right in the centre. There is the "Buttery Hotel" which is very central and despite its name is really a guest house and a lot cheaper than the "proper" hotels in town.
A B&B that has a local reputation for being pleasant is "Heather House" (and I did just check on Trip Advisor and it gets good reviews there too - warning: I noticed some of the other B&Bs listed for Oxford are not even in the city, let alone central). "Heather House" is out of the centre but it is only a 10-15 minute walk in (and there is a very regular bus that passes its front door which will take around 5 mins).
Whatever you choose, do not stay at the "Eurobar". It's cheap for a reason.
Using university accommodation has been mentioned. A word of caution - if it matters to you, do check which college rooms you will be in. I have heard of guests who had thought they would be staying in say a 17th century college building, with a view over the quad, etc. and were rather disappointed to find themselves in some soulless, 1970's annexe. It is possible to stay in the main college buildings, you just need to check when you book what you are getting. Here is the booking site http://www.conference-oxford.com/?p=individual_conf (or you could go to www.oxfordrooms.co.uk which is the company that runs the booking service for the university).
