Unless the sound of the SMN bells tolling bother you, I think you'll survive the Minerva. It's a luxury 4 star hotel and above that category there are only ten 5 star hotels in Florence. It's in Piazza Santa Maria Novella next to the church, not exactly at the Duomo, but you can walk to the Duomo in 10 minutes or less.
