What to do for three days in southern Italy

Between our time in Rome and the amalfi coast, we have three extra days. Any suggestions about where to go and what to see?

South of the Amalfi Coast is the town of Paestum, which has significant ruins of Greek temples in its archeological zone, a very good museum, and a beach. I like the Hotel Poseidonia Mare (the hotel, not the campsite), which has a great breakfast, large rooms, is located about 1km from the ruins and just a few minutes from the beach. The hotel has parking for guests, if you are driving. If not, the hotel staff will meet you at the train stop (be sure to buy your roundtrip ticket before you get to Paestum, they have a train stop rather than a full-service station) and drop you off. They will also loan you bikes. There are a few trains a day to/from Paestum.
