Travel Germany in February 2013

Hello, my husband & I are planning to travel Germany in February 2013. Now are considering either to Berlin/Dresden or Munich/Dresden as our destination. We actually are tend to berlin as our first priority, but somehow we know that Berlin Film Festival (Berlinale) will be held during the period (7-17 February, 2013), we don't know is still worth to go at that time. Otherwise, will pick Munich together with Dresden instead. We would also like to know how many days/nights to spend at each place as well? Thanks in advance for your advice.

Film festivals can overwhelm a smaller town like Cannes, but it will have much less of an effect on a huge city like Berlin. You can probably expect some of the higher end hotels to fill up, but you should still be able to find a room. It will have little to no effect on the transit network or major tourist sites.

How long are you planning to be in Germany?

There are many excellent museums in Berlin in addition to all the other sights.

I would say 2-3 days for Dresden, but it depends a lot on your interests and your travel style - laid back, cram in as much as possible?
