Itinerary
We have 30 days in France in May. We were going to "sort of" follow RIck Steve's suggested itinerary in the Paris 2012 book. But... because of the Grand Prix and Cannes Film festival we think we want to spend a week in Paris then fly to Nice and drive through Provance, Loire Valley and end up in NOrmandy. Just do a reverse of what everyone seems to do. What do you think?

Sounds like a good plan.
I think you'll love it - we did except that we did it all by car. We stayed in the hills above Cannes, no problem. May is perfect.
You say you stayed in the hills above Cannes. Where did you stay? How much time do you need in this area. We will have a car.
