Verbier Budget Hotel for Skiers
Can anyone suggest a budget hotel in Verbier for mid March? Will be skiing so would like easy access to lifts or near bus to lifts. (3 nights)

Depends on what cheap is to you. Personally, getting anything in the 200-300 Euro a night for our small family is budget and a hot deal there. There isn't such a thing as a 'budget' hotel in Verbier, especially now, most of the season is booked by September. We usually stay down the hill in Martigny, which has more affordable hotels. You can take a bus up the hill or just a taxi, which may be cheaper depending on how many people are travelling.
I agree with Kathy. Cheap places to stay at are rare especially in Verbier. You may be able to find some end of season deals but even mid March is a prime ski time. If you have not booked your flights yet, i would look into Chamonix area or the Ski Amade (outside Salzburg). I did Chamonix in end of March 2011 and found some good deals for hotels and the Ski Amade region no matter time the season always has great rates, even some including int he package your lift ticket.
Its been 12 years since I've been to Verbier and I hear it has changed a lot. The first hurdle is no one will rent anything in Verbier for less than a week during the ski season. Just you? A couple? A family? Must be Verbier? Or will a connected resort do?
