Trieste or Maribor for New Year
Hello
We are lucky enough to have 5 nights accommodation in Trieste - however have opportunity to include 2 nights in Maribor during this time over New Year 30/12/12 to 1/1/13. So Trieste V Maribor to welcome the New Year - have never seen snow!

Maribor is hardly a "party town" but it could have a lot of snow so the slopes on the Pohorje might be a good idea. Just depends on the weather, this year there was next to no snow and it was a pretty poor sight indeed on the slopes. But next year could be entirely different. There are number of hotels and restaurants around the base of the Pohorje and a couple on top as well.
Trieste usually does a good new years celebration but doubt there will be any snow there (perhaps....) and Ljubljana is another good choice.
