How much specifically in euros or dollars do you want to spend?

I enjoyed the Hotel Berna, about a block from the central train station. Family owned and run. The staff was excellent. Rates include the best breakfast that I've had in Italy. They also have secure parking if needed. We took the subway to almost everywhere in Milan. Rates vary somewhat depending on conventions and commercial conferences.

Right across the street from the Hotel Berna is the Hotel Garda - also very nice and a bit cheaper than the Hotel Berna.
I've stayed in both and they are nice hotels , great location
walking a couple blocks from the main train station.
The metro station is on the corner, so you can get to all places
in Milan very easily.

You can use venere.com to search for hotels within your budget. 125 dollars or less is 97 euros or less per night. You should be able to find something in this budget but it probably won't be in the city center.

Another vote for Hotel Garda (I got a discount for paying cash last summer). It's a straight walk from the main train station. I also use booking.com for research and often for reservations as well.

I had a couple of suggestions but under 97€ ($125) or 78€ ($100) shoots them out of the water...

Up your budget to $150/night and lots of options open up.
