Train from Basel to Zurich airport....
If our flight departs Zurich at 12:50, would a train arriving at 10:56 give us enough time for security, etc.? I'm not at all familiar with the Zurich airport.
We're considering Zurich versus leaving from Frankfurt......shorter train trip from Basel, and possibility of not needing a hotel night.
Thanks for any thoughts.

It's enough time. That's essentially 2 hours...give or take.
Personally, I think 2 hours is cutting things a bit fine. We found the procedure of checking in and actually getting to our departure gate in Zurich, took more time than any other airport we have departed from.
Just to be on the safe side, why not take the 8:40 nonstop IR that gets you there at 9:56. I assume you don't want to hassle with making a 7 minute connection at Z Hbf.
