Booking at LSE

Has anyone booked a room with London School of Economics? Specifically, I am trying to book a top floor room at Northumberland House. I have been in email contact back and forth since August and it seems to take forever to get a response. I Have had several contacts and it appears my message keeps getting forwarded. Does anyone know of a better way to make a reservation with them? their website shows no rooms available but when I asked they said the system is not set up to accept those dates yet but that a person could help me. And my communication with them has been very friendly. My latest email to them was Nov. 14, so 6 days ago. How long should I wait? Is it worth the wait?

What dates are you trying to book?

Stacey, have you tried calling on the telephone, bearing in mind the difference in time between KC and London?

Trying to book for this coming May. I have not tried the phone, but I had thought about it. I was concerned that I would have the same issue of having to pass me off to someone who could help and it taking a while, then it cost a lot in international phone charges. That should probably be my next step though.

Sign up for Skype, then use it to phone. Very cheap international rates.

If Skype won't work for you, you can use 10-10-987. Per their web site, they charge 9¢ per minute and 55¢ to connect (for land lines; mobile phones cost much more). So, a call of 5 minutes is about a dollar. I've used them without problems.

Thanks for the advice. I'll give it a try.

I've found that when I need to make a booking alternation, the email goes first to a central person, then to the actual hall, then they contact me... it's taken a week or more for me in the past.
