I don't like Civitavecchia that much and wouldn't stay there unless I absolutely had to.
Do you absolutely need to stay there? or would Tarquinia still work for you? It's prettier and only 20 minutes away.
Agree with Roberto. Civitavecchia is just about the most charmless city in Italy. Livorno was only slightly better.
