Venice hotels !

After a lot of searching, we have narrowed our hotel search in Venice to the following:
Locanda al Leon
Locanda Silva
Hotel Riva
Pensione Guerrato
Locanda la Corte
Al Ponte Antico
Has anyone stayed at any of these and what is your opinion ?
We would like ambiance, but I don't want to hear the noisy vaporettos going down the canals !!!

Have you tried searching for those names on this website? You'll get lots of hits. Same with TripAdvisor.

Personally, we've stayed at Guerrato twice, loved it and recommend it highly.

Have stayed at Guerrato several times and will do so again. Last time there we overlooked a small campo (square) and there was a noisy bar that produced some noise, but that has only happened once. It is a really neat location a bit off the beaten path and we love it. We'll be out of touch for several weeks, but if you get a booking there send us a pm if you need specifics as to how to get there.

I would go ahead and contact all/most of these places to see if they have rooms available before you do too much research. I booked my trip 6 months in advance and had to contact 8 hotels before I found a room (I know two of the ones that were full are on your list). Good luck!

Ashley's point is good but be aware that a good number of smaller hotels don't take reservations as far in advance as you might expect. Generally they should be taking reservations about six months ahead.

I tell you this in case some of these places have a booking ability on their websites. I just recently had the experience where a B&B in Bergamo appeared booked up in May 2013 per their online reservation form, but when I emailed them, they responded that they did have availability and I was able to make my reservation that way.

We stayed at the Pensione Guerrato the last time we were in Venice. The location is great. The owners are very friendly. The room was very large with air conditioning, and the price was reasonable for Venice. It's a very nice place. I'd go for it.

Follow their instructions on their website for finding them. The front door is on a little narrow street, easily overlooked if you don't know where to look. Their instructions are very clear.

Thanks for the answers ! All of these are available for our dates.

I hate reading reviews on Trip Advisor and hearing something bad - like that Pensione Guerrato is located by a noisy bar that kept someone up till the wee hours in the morning. Or that Locanda Silva serves cornflakes for breakfast.

That's why I wondered if Rick's followers had a thumbs up or down for any of these !!!
