TGV train from Hendaye

We are booked on the 9:45 TGV to Paris leaving from Hendaye. Is it ok to stay in
Hondarribia Spain the night before with the intent of taking a cab across the border? Is there any delay due to border crossing? Also, are there public transportation options, since distance to Hendaye station seem short.

There are no border cross formalities at all. Just the occasional road checkpoint for drugs, drunk driving, illegal immigrants etc.

Hondarribia (depending on which part) Spain to the Hendaye train station is but a few minutes journey, the station quite small with few tracks to confuse, and an efficient multilingual ticket/info office immediately inside station to the right.

Once tickets sorted, the coffee shops opposite the station good for a quick beverage.

No border issues whatsoever (the occasional police Fra/Sp roadblocks don't slow things down much) and staying on the Spanish side (usually Irun) is our choice because of $'s.

The train service Hendaye to Paris is the usual SNCF comfortable and efficient journey with interesting sights along the way.
