Custom POI on an iPad map/GPS?
I envision creating my own POI on a map/GPS in an iPad for the trip to Italy and Ireland.. Want to geographicaly organize the wonderful input from other travelers that I might enjoy as I travel the roads and integrate this with a GPS system that will work in rural areas. Ideally, I'd love to find someone to set this up and teach me how to add more POI as I get more tips from other travelers.

A GPS uses satellites, so it will work anywhere. I am not sure I understand what you are trying to do, though. What POI could you add that is not already on the map of a GPS?

I'm always adding new POI to my stand alone GPS.., Yesterday I added a supermarket and a church and the Lands' End outlet.
Not everything is in the database that comes from the factory.
Nigel, I guess I was thinking in terms of addresses, not names of places. And I guess I haven't encountered any POI that weren't in my GPS - yet.
