lodging in Amsterdam
We are ending a Rhine cruise there and have two nights before flying home. Need a nice place near the central train station. We will be walking to catch our train to the airport. Lots of places mentioned but would love input from travelers

It's not always necessary to stay near Amsterdam Centraal. I stayed at the THIS Hotel on my last visit, and it was VERY easy to get to the station using the local Trams. The trip was very short, only about 10 - 15 minutes or so.
That hotel is in a great area, close to both the RijksMuseum and Van Gogh Museum.

We did your trip a few years ago and stayed at Boogaard's in the Jordaan district. Comfy B&B with delicious breakfasts-on quiet street but close to wonderful restaurants and a great pub.
