Flight Berlin to Budapest
My wife and I will be flying from Berlin to Budapest the afternoon of May 4 (Saturday). I assume a non-stop flight isn't an issue; but would like some specific recommendations on what airlines are reliable and a good value. What is the quickest way on public transportation from Berlin to the airport (which airport?) and from the Budapest airport to the city? Our window of time for the flight could be anytime departing Berlin 14:00-16:00, and arriving Budapest 18:00 or a few hours earlier.

Airberlin flies from Berlin Tegel to Budapest. I've used them before, they're very reasonable but have baggage size restrictions. I don't know about the schedule, though.
Regular bus, i think it is #200, from in front of Budapest Airport to the bottom of the Blue Metro line, which will get you anywhere in the city. Should take under an hour. Tickets at newsstand in airport, make sure you punch them when you board the bus, we had the transit checkers on us 15 seconds after we pulled out of the terminal (we had validated).
Started checking flights Berlin to Budapest May 04; was i shocked! I'm seeing fares $200-$300+/person. Is this the "new" budget intra-Europe price point?
Did some additional searching on line and found what I was looking for: A flight that departs Berlin mid-afternoon and arrives an hour and a half later at Budapest Ferenic Liszt. Cost was reasonable (€65/each).
