Hotels near Rome Fiumicino, Italy

What recommendations do you have for a hotel at the Fiumicino Airport? I plan to check in, then take a train downtown for the evening. My flight leaves early a.m. so I want to be situated at the airport.

You can read RonInRome.com as follows:

Another way to find hotels anywhere is to go to GoogleMaps.com and zero in on the airport. Then, magnify the image. Moving the cursor will move the image around. B&B's and Hotels will be easily seen that you can click on to get details. Most that are showing on the map will have websites.

I go by what Ron says when it comes to Roma.

We stayed at the Hotel Riviera in 2009. The airport shuttle was reasonable and punctual. Short walk to the beach which was a nice way to spend the evening.

About 18 months ago we stayed at the Park Hotel Isola Sacra, a few kms from the airport. There is a shuttle to the airport (€6) and also a shuttle to and from Rome for €12 each way. Lovely hotel, very modern.

Andrea,

If you want to be right at the airport and don't mind a "splurge", you might have a look at the Rome Airport Hilton. From the Hotel you'll be able to walk right into the Terminals. The access route to the Hotels joins that from the trains so it's also easy to get to the Leonardo Express.

Part of the covered walkway has "moving sidewalks", which makes the trek a bit easier with luggage (provided they're not broken-down, which was the case last time I was there).

Happy travels!
