What is the best way to travel from Lake Como to Interlaken? Thought this would be a great place to stay and take day trips from by train.

Hi Beki. More info is needed to answer your question. There are many cities on Lake Como. Which city are you asking about? Also, when you say 'best way to travel', what do you mean? Fastest? cheapest? Most scenic? ... and for how many people?

Each leg by train involves a likely journey into Milano with a change there and then a 4 to 5 hour train trip to Interlaken Ost. If you go the scenic way via Luzern and the Brunig Pass on the narrow gauge add another 2 hours or more. There aren't enough hours in the day to make a decent day trip.

Yes, please give us more information. When you say "Thought this would be a great place to stay and take day trips from by train" did you mean Lake Como or Interlaken? Whether these are good places for daytrips depends on what daytrips you had in mind. What did you want to see, in the Lake Como area and in Switzerland? And which town on Lake Como did you have in mind to stay in?

Etc, etc.

Beki,

I definitely agree with the others - we need more information on what you're planning.

Are you definite on staying in Interlaken, or would a location in the Lauterbrunnen Valley be an option?

Cheers!
