Bus Transportation

We are considering taking a Greek Isles cruise in September with Princess. It stops in Crete at 7:00am and leaves at 5:00 pm. My question is has anyone ever taken the bus to Chania and was able to do it in the allotted time frame. This is where my husband mother is from so we wanted to go to the village and check it out.

What city in Crete are you arriving?

Not sure if it is Iraklion or Aghios Nikolas. I know that they are fairly close to one another.

if you're docking at iraklio then it's a very tight day. the bus ride takes a long time to get there, and chania is not big. the bus barn in chania is right outside of the old town, maybe walk 5-10 min to the old town center and waterfront. if the place you want to go is a village outside of the old town, you may have to grab a taxi. it can be a long and not so relaxing day.
