Google maps satellite image shows a large car park at the station (opposite side of the tracks from the station building). Don't know about fees.

Of Course! I forgot about Google maps..... I checked the train station info and it did not mention, but one site said a lot of commuters used it to get to work....I figured there had to be a parking lot.
Thanks

Figline may have some relationship to Figs. It was originally called FIGHINO (little fig) and also, FEGHINE, FIGHINE o FEGGHINE.

In Dante's Divine Comedy (Paradise) the poet calls it 'Fegghine'.

It probably takes its name from the Castle of Fighine.

I wonder if Terry is staying in Figline because of its ancient history or just because there is the huge Prada outlet in town.

Oh Roberto.....my daughters will love the Prada outlet! I will not, I don't think, although I do believe the man bags they have in Europe make sense. We actually will be in Panzano...and hopefully will not get lost.

Actually maybe Prada is in Montevarchi. I don't even remember. My wife forces me to drive her to all of those and I'm usually in a daze after the first one. I remember once she forced me to drive her to the Prada while I was all jetlagged two hours after landing coming from the US (she wasn't. She was at my parents' in Florence for a few days ahead of me). I fell asleep on the couch where people try their shoes and they kicked me out as if I were a homeless person.

If there is an outlet within 60 miles, my daughters will smell it out! My wife and I don't care..... until it comes time to bring it all home! I'm hoping my pictures will capture the flavor of the area. I believe I have seen some of yours and they are very nice indeed. any "secret" towns we should visit during our two weeks there??
