Berlin City Card? Is it worth it?

I am taking 9 students and 4 adults to Berlin for 3 days in May. We are art students and faculty who need access to the major museums, public transportation, etc. The city card seems a good option but some of the major museums are not on it, and I do not know about the transportation. The Island card does not cover some of the museums we want to visit, and I also want the students to have the freedom to visit sites on their own. Does anyone have advice on a combination card. I did review info on the helpline topic itself, but difficult to sift through all the info. Cheers!

The Berlin card is a good deal and include all transportation within Berlin.

Well, that depends on how much you'll use the card. Note what you plan to visit and then do the math, e.g.:

The Berlin CityTourCard (is that the one you refer to?) 72h zones AB costs 22.90 Euro.
Three normal (i.e. transit only) day tickets for zones AB cost 3*6.50 = 19.50 Euro.

So you need to recover 3.40 Euro due to the discount function of the CityTourCard to break even.

The Bereichskarte Museumsinsel (i.e. the one day Island pass) and the 3-Day Berlin Museum Pass are purely for the museum entrance and don't include transit at all.

On the web it was listed as the Berlin Card at Euros 73 for 3 days inclusive of 50 museums, city sites and transportation. That seems quite a lot, but we are scheduled for 7 museums and need to travel quickly between destinations...Will check the individual amounts to see if it adds up...

Thanks for the comments and info....

What are the 7 museums that you are visiting?

7 museums in 3 full days (assuming that doesn't count arrival and departure day) is just madness, in my very humble opinion.

Unless they are all small ones, or the visits have specific focus on each one of them.

If most or all of the museums you want to visit are covered by the 3-day museum pass, it will be much better value to get that and separate travel tickets than the Berlin City Card.
