Monterosso: Hotel Porto Roca - No View

My husband and I are traveling to CT this May and have found that most of the hotels are booked. We could do a room in Hotel Porto Roca without a view. I'm wondering if it's worth the cost without the view.

A little more information: CT is our last stop. We're staying in apartments booked through airbnb for the rest of the trip. So we don't mind splurging a little for our "vacation from our vacation." Any other ideas you have are appreciated. Thanks!

Even without a room with a view, they have plenty of common area balconies and terraces where you can hang out and enjoy the view while having a drink and making new friends with other guests or the staff. To me that beats staying locked up in your own bedroom with just your husband and yourself.

Katie,

I definitely agree with Roberto! While you may not have a view from your room, there are incredible views available from the patios and restaurant. I typically don't spend a lot of time in the room, so that wouldn't be an important consideration.

Given the fact that May is not too far in the future, if you can find a room I'd suggest booking SOON! Porto Roca is at the far end of the old town (at the entrance to the trail to Vernazza), but once you're settled there and have dropped luggage, it's not a difficult walk into town. As I recall, they were building a pool on a flat lot across from the hotel, but not sure if it's finished yet.

Happy travels!

Katie,

Fantastic! After you've checked into the hotel and have a seat on the patio with a glass of Prosecco in the afternoon sun, you may wish you had booked more time.

It's not really a difficult walk to Porto Roca from the station, but with luggage I'd suggest using the complimentary Taxi offered by the hotel.

Buon Viaggio!
