Amsterdam - Brussels - Paris Help

We have about 8 days, are planning on flying into Amsterdam, train to Brussels, and on to Paris before flying home. The plan is to get up one morning, take the train from Amsterdam to Brussels and then hang out in Brussels for the day before hopping back on the train to go to Paris later that evening. Question is whether a day in Brussels will be enough, or worthwhile? Or should we just skip it and go on to Paris?

I'm not a big fan of Brussels, so my preference would be go non-stop to Paris.

What Michael said. Paris is too good to sacrifice even one day.

It depends on what you like. I'd stop for part of the day to see the Grand Place, try a beer or two or three, frites, waffle,... and then get back on the train.

We did as Bets mentioned and it was fine with us.

We have done two quick day stops in Brussels on our way to Paris (once from Amsterdam). Each time we stowed our luggage in lockers.

On the first trip, we took a taxi to the European Parliament. They were live in session. You get a set of headphones to listen to the canned tour, but when we realized that the speaker was speaking in English, we quit listening to the tour spiel and started taking in what the guy was proposing the EU do. Facinating. Fly-on-the-wall kind of moment.

The second trip was a quick taxi ride to the main square to get a picture made by the Manneken-Pis and to buy chocolate and lace.

If I had a choice between the two again, I would hands-down do the EU Parliament tour again.
