Can anyone help in advising whether or not we can get a ferry from zakynthos to corfu in early July. we can only find zakynthos to kalini then patras to corfu - but have no idea how to get from kalini to patras. Help!

If Directferries.com don't know the connection than I'm afraid there may not be a good one. I've heard Anek Lines weren't serving Patras-Corfu this year. But they're the only ones on the route so you might want to contact them.
