Vienna train ride vs. Budapest train ride to Venice

Which trip is more scenic on a train trip to Venice - Budapest or Vienna? Also, I'm wondering if a daytime trip is worth the scenery for either trip - is it? A little help here would be appreciated, thanks!

Don't you have to switch over to a train for a segment on that itinerary?

The mountains are a factor between those cities and Venice.
And budget air carriers don't go everywhere.

I don't know about the trip from Budapest to Venice, but on the trip from Vienna to Venice no bus is listed

According to Deutsche Bahn website all trips from Budapest to Venice go through Vienna anyway. Once I went from Vienna to Venice and I can say trip is very scenic. For schedule check Deutsche Bahn website.
