Real Experiences From Our Tour Members
Our goal as tour organizers: to pack your trip with "magic moments." Here are just a few of the many magic moments our gangs experienced on a Rick Steves' tour recently. For the inside scoop on all of our tours, check out our uncensored tour member feedback page.
The entire trip was a WOW. My husband and I used to watch Rick Steves every Sunday on PBS at 2:00pm while our kids were little, anxious to learn about different European countries. We've been watching since the early 90's (has he been on that long?, and then to have finally realized our dream of travel to Europe, this was the big WOW!

Rooftop picnic at the hotel in Taormina. It was the second night of amazing thunder and lightning storms with nature putting on an incredibly powerful show and in the distance, the sight of lava flowing down Mt. Etna. Add to that, good people, great food and fabulous wine - what more could you ask for?

1. Realization that free enterprize and capitalism can prosper in a social democracy. 2. The mountains of Norway are gorgeous-more people should know about them. When I got off the bus, I just wanted to keep walking. 3. Sitting in the bar with my wife on the ferry from Copenhagen to Oslo, drinking a drambuie and watching the lengthy sunset. 4. Strolling through the Tivoli, again with my wife, and enjoying the ambience and the events.

There were many, but I was most affected by our trip to the D-Day beaches. It was the one thing on the trip I didn't really want to do and it ended up being one of my favorites. The special tour guide really made the trip.

We had so many wonderful people experiences in Turkey that they are too many to describe, but I will always remember the mother and daughter who gave us a freshly baked loaf of bread out of a street-side oven that they just baked. Wow, such generosity and warmth! We will always remember the dancing at the Greek house and the chance to walk in the footsteps of my early Christian brothers and sisters at Goreme.

My trip was a constant "wow" because accompanying me was my fiance who had never before travelled abroad. I have been to London several times; however, it was sheer pleasure watching him experience it all for the very first time. Plus, no matter how many times you have visited a city, one ALWAYS sees new things or notices aspects not recognized previously.

Mine would have to be the Luge! What a blast! I'm 63 and my husband is 76! Staying in Murren and hiking in the Berner Oberland was a magic moment for me! Another very special place was Hallstadt. I would have liked to spend several extra days in both places.

Really enjoyed the raft trip down the beautiful canyon and the wonderful picnic at the conclusion of the ride. The whole trip was a "WOW" as scenery was beautiful, tour group mixed well, food was in abundance and outstanding. Also visiting countries which have not been spoiled by tourism and meeting very different but friendly people was most enjoyable.
