Jolly Good! Raves about Rick's London Guides

Take a tour from any company, and you can count on your guide to be well-versed in art and history, and to run a tight ship. Rick Steves, however, expects much more from his travel teachers. Good...isn't good enough. Here are a few impressions from our Best of London tour alums...

Martin de Lewandowicz

Martin was fantastic. He stated at the beginning that his job was to help us have fun. He did that and more. He went out of his way to get to know us so that he could give us the best experiences. When things didn't go exactly as planned, he was able to regroup on the fly to make a better plan for us. His sense of humor was delightful. I was amazed at what he knew about history, art, government, culture and how he helped us understand how it all fit together. All in all, I could not have imagined a better guide.

Gillian Chadwick

Gillian was a hoot. I really can't think of anything that she didn't have a command of, she has a great sense of humor and a great knowledge of the city. She has a great understanding of art and history, as a matter of fact you couldn't help but notice that whenever we went to the museums that we would all of the sudden have stray gallery patrons trying to tag along. She knows her stuff and conveys her knowledge with a great sense of fun.

Roy Nicholls

Roy was the quintessential guide. He was knowledgeable, professional, available, relaxed and fun. He was a terrific teacher (I'm an elementary school principal, I KNOW good teachers!). He carefully explained procedures in a respectful way so that we felt confident without feeling ignorant. I would do another tour with him in a heartbeat!
