Magic Moments from Greece

Acropolis at night
"On my last day on earth, I will have this memory..."

Day-by-day itineraries can give you a general idea of what you'll get for your money, but they can't prepare you for how Greece will surprise you at every turn...and perform a little magic. Here are just a few "wow" moments from our Best of Athens & the Heart of Greece tour alums...

"For a moment, while having dinner al fresco at Taverna Leonidas on Hydra, I took a moment to hit life's pause button to just soak it all in — the ambience, the people, the place, the experience — and realize, 'Wow! I'm here!' and not take everything so much for granted. And I enjoyed many other moments exploring new places with new friends."
Randy in Calabasas, CA

"We were visiting one of the little villages to see a church. I was lagging behind, taking pictures, when I realized a woman above me on her balcony was watching. I said,'Kalimera,' and she responded and also plucked a flower from a pot and threw it to me."
Sharlene in Avila Beach, CA

"The trip was a series of unforgettable 'wows': Shafts of sunlight through the ancient columns of the Parthenon; dinner at the Delphi taverna with a view to the Corinthian gulf; people strolling the harbor at Gythio every evening and our great dinner there; wandering the bougainvillea-covered streets of Kardamyli; standing on the original starting line at Olympia; communing with the Oracle of Delphi high in the mountains; the fascinating harbor scene on Hydra as donkeys were loaded with ships' cargo — all 100% wows!"
David in Gahanna, OH

"On my last day on earth, I will have this memory of Athens: It's 11:30 p.m. and we've just finished dinner and browsed our way through the Plaka. On the way back to our hotel, we walk along the road that circles the base of the Acropolis. It's 80 degrees. The Parthenon is lit up. There's a full moon. Even the memory gives me goose bumps."
Elaine in Seattle, WA
