Question of the Month: Can I Get a Private Single Room?

Tour hotel room
Want to snore more? You can keep it a secret in 2009.

Most tour companies charge a mandatory "single supplement" for solo travelers. Our practice has always been to pair them together (same gender) in a two-bed room, and not charge them extra. And that's what the vast majority of our single tour members prefer.

For solo travelers who don't mind paying extra for more privacy, we've offered extra-cost single rooms on our city tours and Turkey tours. Now, by popular demand, we're expanding this option.

For 2009 we're offering a limited number of private single rooms on every departure for every tour. Need a quiet refuge...or freedom to snore through the night? Our optional single supplement prices range from $325 to $925, based on the length of each tour. You can request one of these rooms when you book any 2009 tour. Because our tours stay in smaller-style hotels, we can offer only a few private single rooms for each departure — so it's important to reserve early! For other special rooming situations...

Two friends signing up together: Indicate this when you sign up, and you'll be assigned to the same twin-beds room.

Families: If you are traveling together with more than one family member, we'll do our best to accommodate your rooming requests. Please contact the Tour Department prior to booking your tour. Email tour@ricksteves.com or call (425) 608-4217.

Special circumstances: If you have any special needs or requests regarding hotel rooms during your tour, please contact the Tour Department prior to booking your tour. Email tour@ricksteves.com or call (425) 608-4217.
