Greece Tour Magic Moments
Our goal as tour organizers: to pack your trip with "magic moments." Here are just a few of the many "wows" our tour members have experienced on our Athens & the Heart of Greece in 14 Days tour. To see more comments, visit our uncensored tour member feedback page.
"As a high school track coach, the 'wow' moment for me was standing in the Olympia Stadium. On the morning after our Dimitsana stop, some members of our tour group joined some Albanian stone workers in doing road repair on a Greek road. As someone said, only on a Rick Steves tour would something like that happen."

"I have always dreamed of going to the Parthenon and seeing this most beautiful piece of history and architectural genius. Standing in front of it, I sobbed, which is not like me. I feel so lucky to have had such an experience. Walking to the top of the mountain fortress in Monemvasia was incredible. The view from the top, on that very windy day, was spectacular! Taking it all in with the hardy group of us that dared, was a great memory!"

"During the 'day off' in Kardamyli, a few of us went on a hike around the area, wandering over hills with large stands of cypress trees, past (and occasionally into) remote monasteries, and along a dried-up river bed full of pebbles and boulders, accompanied by the sound of cow-bells, and overlooking a cavernous valley. At the first church there was a reception going on, and the people offered us juice and cookies and let us peek inside the church, despite our sweaty and disheveled appearance! The end of the hike culminated in a traditional Greek lunch on the town's waterfront, staring out at the sea, and enjoying a cold Mythos. Although each day in Greece seemed better than the last — and I have more memories of great swims and hikes and emotionally moving art than I could have ever anticipated — this may well have been the greatest of them all, and the most unexpected."
