Hi from Rick: Still the Best Trip Yet

| Thirty years after Rick promoted it on a bulletin board, the Best of Europe is still Europe's best trip. |
Dear Traveler,
Back in the 1970s, the only tour I did was "The Best of Europe in 22 Days." I did it over and over and over and over again. And, what amazed me, the more I did it, the more I liked it. It was our only tour back then, and I was our only guide. Today we have three dozen itineraries and the Best of Europe (now in 21-day, 14-day and family tour flavors) remains our flagship — for all the right reasons.
If Europe were a fine restaurant (which, come to think of it, it is), this tour would be its "degustation" menu. As any great chef loves to wow diners with his favorites in a special "tasting" menu, we Europhiles at Europe Through the Back Door love to wow our first-time travelers (and those who've been to just a city or two) with this tastiest selection of Europe's wonders.
I still remember the daily exhilaration — floating the canals of Amsterdam one day, cruising past the castles on the Rhine a couple of days later — then gliding down the canals of Venice, before seeming to survey all of Europe from the scalps of the Alps. And I still remember our tour members declaring at each and every dinner...
"This has been the best day yet!"
Being served so many interesting cultures and memorable sights in a single trip is still exhilarating today. To give you a taste, this month's Tour News features our value-packed, perfectly-named Best of Europe tours. The best news for you: there are still some dates open for this summer's "degustation" on wheels.
The best trip yet.
Happy travels,
Rick Steves
