Why yes...and we all slept on the ground, too!
My husband and I had just finished our "Best of Europe in 21 Days" tour and continued on our own to visit the Normandy beaches. We were sitting at an outdoor cafe in Bayeux eating dinner when two American couples began visiting with us. They had just finished a canal cruise in France, and asked us where we had been traveling. I told them that we had just finished a Rick Steves tour of Europe. One woman responded, "Oh, that's the tour where you have to carry your own luggage, right?!"
