Great Guides Make a Big Difference
For twenty-five years Rick lead our tours while apprenticing hand-picked tour guides. Before long, those Rick-trained guides would apprentice another "generation." We carry on that personal-passion-for-teaching tradition to this day. And that's one big reason why, more than one-third of our tour members are repeat customers.
We also pay our guides full salaries. Tips and kickbacks are not allowed. This means your guide is motivated to give you the best travel experience possible — not to earn extra income on the side. We know our guides are great but you don't have to take our word for it, you can learn more about them from past tour members' evaluations and our Guide Interviews.
Here are some "raves" about just a few of the fine guides who will lead our tours in 2011.
"Colleen is truly a National treasure. She is extremely knowledgeable about history, culture, food/wine and current events, a good speaker and teacher (informative and entertaining!), very organized (the tour ran like clockwork, without a glitch), friendly to all, and somehow made us all feel well cared for every step of the way. Grazie mille, Colleen!" |

"Stephen made this tour an unforgettable memory. The singing and laughing are the two most memorable things I have that I will cherish forever. My abdominal muscles actually hurt from laughing so much. I can't imagine going back to Ireland without seeing him. He is the perfect Irish gentleman!" |

"Gillian was great. Her dry English sense of humor was very funny. At times when the bus trips wore on a bit she would bring around samples of cheese and candy from areas that we had just visited. After a couple of days she became 'mum' to most of us, which was funny because she's younger then about 3/4 of our group." |

Federico is by far the best guide ever! His passion for his country was unparalleled. What a knowledgeable and articulate man he is. I could listen to him for hours (I guess we did!) without missing a beat. I would go on another tour just to listen to his commentary and passion for his country. He was so much fun yet very professional and fair in his approach to all the people on the tour." |
