Hi from Rick: Announcing My 2012 Tours

Harbor Boats
Make 2012 your year to get the most out of Europe — affordably — on a Rick Steves tour.

Dear Traveler,

In this month's special edition of Tour News I'm happy to announce our exciting tour lineup of 2012 tours — 38 itineraries designed and priced to give you the best value in European travel.

As we do every year, we've taken what's been a proven success, evaluated hundreds of new ideas (from my book research, our tour guides, and tour members), and then fine-tuned each itinerary to bring you even more travel thrills per mile, minute and dollar. Here are some highlights...

Book early, save $100: Reserve your 2012 tour by 11/30/11 and save $100 per seat. Change your mind? Cancel before 12/31/11, and you'll get 100% of your deposit back. We have lots of other ways you can save money, too.

All inclusive: I've always insisted that my tours be "all inclusive." Too many tour companies try to lure you with a low sticker price, then charge you extra for daily sightseeing activities once you're in Europe — which can easily add $100 per day to what you've already paid. We don't work that way. Notice how detailed the "what's included" list is for every Rick Steves tour. We even toss in free extras, like a helpful guidebook, moneybelt, and — new for 2012 — a free Civita Day Pack.

Extra-small groups: An important reason why we can deliver so much per day is our small-group nimbleness. For 2012, we've shrunk about two-thirds of our tours down to extra-small groups of 20-24 (the rest are capped at just 28)! We get into cozier restaurants and hotels than the typical big-bus tour of 40-50 people — and it's a lot easier to bond with your travel companions. It's like sharing a holiday with a fun family, not an impersonal mob.

Flexible choices: For 2012 we are offering a trio of My Way itineraries for travelers who want to design their own daily sightseeing, yet still have the hassle-free dependability of a tour bus, reserved hotels and a knowledgeable Rick Steves escort. My Way tours also cost hundreds of dollars less than their fully-guided counterparts. For 2012 you can choose two-week My Way tours based on our popular Best of Europe, Best of Italy, and Best of Germany, Austria & Switzerland itineraries.

Check out this month's Tour News to learn more. I hope you'll find plenty of reasons to make 2012 your year to get the most out of Europe — affordably — the Rick Steves way.

I hope you can join us!

Happy travels,

Rick
