Best of Europe "There were so many 'wow' moments...finally feasting my eyes and my soul on the REAL David by Michelangelo, tucked away in an unassuming tiny museum in Florence...lying on a park bench on a beautiful day in Paris, looking up at the Eiffel Tower through the trees...listening to the most endearing man in the world, Herr Jung, tell us stories of his life as a German boy during World War II as he led us through the beautiful mountainside village and vineyards of Bacharach."

Best of Europe "My favorite memory will be the time in Switzerland, gazing up at the Jungfrau from the small bridge behind our lodgings. It was early in the morning. The sun came up shining out on the snow and a small cloud appeared in the shape of a heart (I swear to God) and floated by the mountain top. This whole area was beautiful beyond belief."

Best of Europe "The moments that stand out for me personally were some of the moments my family and I had away from the group's scheduled activities: a picnic with my mom and sister on a Swiss mountainside with the most amazing view, hiking down a Bavarian hillside in the pouring rain, walking around the streets of Paris on our own. I really appreciated the way the overall tour was structured so that we had group time and also flexible time. It was a perfect combination."

Best of Europe"When we arrived at the manor house in Burgundy it was like a scene from the Sound of Music. As our bus drove down the tree-lined driveway, the owners with their four children were waiting for us. As soon as we parked, the kids on our tour ran out of the bus to play soccer and badminton with the owner's children. There were tables set up for us outside and the adults enjoyed walking the grounds and drinking wine."

Best of Europe "Our hike from our hotel in Austria to the Neuschwanstein Castle was beautiful. Walking the hiking trails through the woods, over the border into Germany, and around the lake was wonderful. The thing that literally had me saying 'wow' was my first sight of the Eiffel Tower lit up at night. We took the Seine River evening cruise, and as we got off the boat, there the Tower was, brightly lit in its glory. To top it off, my boyfriend proposed to me at the top."

Best of Europe "At our hotel in Switzerland, the guides arranged for an alpenhorn player to play for us outside. It was dusk, there was a bit of mist around the mountains and we could hear the cowbells in the distance as the horn player played. The sound seemed to just reverberate all around us. Another fond memory was at the hotel in Tuscany, where we got to experience a cooking demonstration. That was great, and delicious! There were also the smaller moments, like seeing the kids enjoy themselves at dinner, at the pool or playing cards at the back of the bus."

Best of Europe"I remember rising above the clouds in a packed gondola in Switzerland. Everyone gasped! The beauty took our collective breath away! It had been raining and cloudy below in Lauterbrunnen. Our guide planned it so well!"

Best of Europe "In Tuscany, my new friends from the tour and I went down to a local soccer field to play a bit each night we were there. I met two girls one night and a guy the second night. None of them spoke English, so I decided to embrace the 'Rick Steves mentality' and talk with them. What's the worse thing that could happen? I used the basic Italian that our tour guide went over, plus some that my friends had taught me, and before we knew it, we were having a great time playing competitive soccer! As odd as it sounds, we actually had a nice long conversation afterwards using hand signals and broken English. It was an evening I will remember forever!"
