Marvelous Meals in Spain and Morocco

On each of our tours through the southwest corner of Europe, the meals are designed to get you literally sinking your teeth into the local culture. In the Basque Country of Spain & France — famous for its cuisine — we share a sumptuous dinner at a members-only gastronomical society. And in other cities...well, here's a peek at some actual menus we'll be eating from. Specifics may change here and there, but — as with many things in Spain, Portugal and Morocco — that can be half the fun!
Dinner in Granada:
- Goat cheese salad
- Gazpacho (Andalusian fresh tomato and vegetable soup) or crema of vegetable soup
- Seabass with courgettes and dill sauce or cubed marinated beef with orange and curry
- Cassatta ice cream (typical from Granada) or hot chocolate cheesecake
- White & red wine, soft drinks, water and Champagne
Dinner in Madrid
- Variety of cured meats (ham, chorizo, salchichon, lomo and cecina) and cheese
- Heart of lettuce salad with red pepper and tuna
- Spanish potato omelet with homemade tomato sauce
- Mushrooms with garlic and parsley
- Beef sirloins with potatoes, spicy peppers, and sweet & sour figs
- Chocolate truffle with cherry liquor
Dinner in Tangier
- Dinner with Couscous, all served family-style
- Chicken Tagine (stew of chicken with lemon and olives or vegetables)
- Lamb Tagine (with prunes and almonds or vegetables)
- Brochettes of Chicken
- Brochettes of Kefta (seasoned meatballs)
