"Each day brought multiple 'WOW' moments. Every place we visited was special. If I had to pick one — which is very difficult — I think Herr Jung may have been the most special. His personal story was an incredible way to learn about Germany and WWII. His personal accounts of living through the war and its aftermath had tears streaming down my face. I really hope someone has taken the time to record this man's stories."

"The 'wow' moment for me had to be in Switzerland, when we entered our room in the Hotel Oberland and opened the doors to the little outdoor porch, complete with chairs and table. As I looked across the valley at the town of Wengen and the mountains in the distance, I was overcome with tears. Seeing that view again, as lovely and profound as it had been when I was there 29 years ago, really made me reflect upon the power and beauty of nature and man's struggle to live in harmony with it."

"We had a magic memory on our own the day before the tour began. We took our book's recommendations and after a crepe dinner in Paris, we walked to the Eiffel tower. We were able to see the hourly laser show on the tower. It was magnificent. Then we walked to the Arc du Triomphe, and down the Champs-Elysées. We had pizza as the restaurants were closing, then walked down the strip to the Concord Plaza and back home, arriving at 3:30 a.m. We were so excited that our tiredness didn't occur to us until about 2:30 a.m. It was nice to walk the Parisian streets in the quiet."

"I loved the night in Burgundy at Hôtel Les Grands Chênes with the wonderful, several-course meal served outside on the lawn. There were games to play (soccer, badminton, etc.), and the setting was lovely as was the hotel. To top it off, we had kitschy musicians with costumes (rubber chicken for starters), a singing dog, and dancing taught by the owners' four children. What fun!"

"Certainly, without a doubt, my 'WOW' moment was our first evening in Paris. After checking at the hotel, our family went for a walk. Two minutes later we rounded a corner, and there in the near distance was the Eiffel Tower behind a backdrop of Parisian buildings. The moment was both magical and breathtaking."

"All of Switzerland was a 'wow' moment. We couldn't stop taking pictures. The walk from Murren to Gimmelwald was unbelievable!! I know why they say, 'If heaven isn't all that it's cracked up to be, take me back to Gimmelwald!' Also, the night we arrived in Venice it was drizzling. As the rain stopped we walked to San Marcos square. The sky was a breathtaking orange and the scenery was surreal. It was a 'Pinch me is this real?' moment."

"Wow! I don't know where to begin. It was an amazing journey and every day had incredible moments. I can honestly say that at the end of each day, I didn't think it could get any better and then we would have a new day and more 'wow' moments. The other five families that we traveled with are amazing people. We had so much fun together and we truly did become like family. I loved the two-hour meals in the evening followed by another couple hours of chatting and getting to know each other. The best surprise of this journey was all of the new friendships. I will definitely take another Rick Steves tour someday."

"My first 'wow' moment was just before the tour started. We followed Rick's advice of curing jetlag with a bike ride. We rented bikes in Haarlem and rode out to the sea. Gorgeous weather, and it seemed like everyone from town decided to do the same thing! Another 'wow' moment was during free time in Venice. A group of ladies got together in Saint Mark's square for drinks. It just so happened that the Acqua Alta was occurring. We took our shoes off, and sat at the table with our drinks and let the water come to us. It was great to see so many happy faces, with everyone from young to old wading in the cool sea water. I also really liked hiking in the Swiss Alps. It just happened to be a gorgeous sunny day (in between 2 rainy days). It felt like we were on top of the world."
