Greece's Peloponnese: Nafplion
Rick Steves' YouTube Channel is a great place to watch clips from Rick's TV shows, interviews, lectures and other public appearances.
This month we're featuring a 2½-minute clip from Nafplion, Greece — a charming port town in Greece's Peloponnese. Nestled under cliffs at the apex of a vast bay, Nafplion is a "must-see" because of its historical importance as an outpost of the Venetian empire and independent Greece's first capital city, its proximity to the ancient sites of Epidavros and Mycenae, and its delightful mix of Venetian, Muslim Ottoman and Neoclassical architecture.
