Travel with Rick through Social Media

Rick on the Via Ferrata in Switzerland
My guidebook research has its share of nail-biting experiences, like traversing this sheer, 2,000-foot-high cliff near Gimmelwald, Switzerland. Follow me through social media, and you'll be the first to hear about it.

Technology makes it easier than ever for us to be travel partners. This past summer, with the help of my trusty iPhone, I've video blogged, tweeted, and Facebook-posted during my time on the road. Each night as I return to my hotel, my favorite bedtime reading has been the Facebook and blog comments from my followers. It's become a fun way for us to experience Europe together.

As social media grows, so does the number of ways you can access my on-the-road updates. Here is a quick rundown of your choices. The content is the same, so if you want to keep in touch, simply choose your favorite source:

  1. Rick Steves' Blog Gone Europe: Hosted on ricksteves.com, my blog is here for people who regularly visit my site. They can just "stop by" to see what's new. Here you can also subscribe to an RSS feed or email notices.
  2. Facebook: The fastest growing option, my Facebook page is full of fun, vocal friends and fans. "Like" me to receive updates through your newsfeed. Plus, reading and writing comments is a lot of fun.
  3. Twitter: Follow me on Twitter to be notified when new postings are available.
  4. Huffington Post: New to the line-up, my blog is now hosted in Huffington Post's travel section. If you already get your news through this site, this might be a good option for you.

No matter which channel you choose, I'll enjoy showing up on your digital doorstep every few days with free, fresh travel content. Join in and tell your friends!

P.S. Don't forget to sign up for a monthly email reminder from ricksteves.com whenever a new issue of my Travel News comes out.
