Rick gets Rory and Lorelai off to a shaky start
A few years ago, when my mom and I decided to backpack around Europe, we made one teensy mistake: showing Rick's Europe Through the Back Door book to my grandparents. We should have known Grandma would open it right to page 217, where Rick writes that spending a night as a refugee without a room can be a perspective-broadening experience. (Somehow there was a video camera running during this, so you can see the results.) Once the dust settled, we had a great European adventure. But people should be warned: if you are planning a trip with this book, keep it away from Grandma!
