Eastern Europe is clearly the new frontier in European tourism. After spending a month there (producing two TV shows, up-dating our East Europe guidebook, and enjoying some sunny down-time on the Dalmatian coast), I'm becoming an East Euro-phile. The amazing thing: while it's our fastest selling first edition guidebook ever and the hottest destination for our tour program, Americans are still discovering the region. I saw only a handful of Americans in Slovenia and Croatia in two weeks. And those I saw wanted me to keep their travel secret. But I can't. Here is a slideshow with some thoughts on this exciting region.
