Important instructions on assembling the modules for broadcast
- This fundraiser can be customized for your station's local pitching needs using the modules and opening billboard.
- Segments A and B need to run in sequence.
- You may also use both Segments C and D for your fundraiser, but it will probably take you longer than one hour.
- Premium pitches are in Part 2 of each module (i.e., "Segment A-2"). You may run them directly after Part 1 (i.e., "Segment A-1").
- You may also start your local pitching after Part 1, and then use our premium pitch in Part 2. Resume your local pitching prior to starting the next module.
Music is provided under Rick's premium pitches in the Segment 2 modules and in some of the generic pitches at the end of the Segment 1 modules. If you are able to devote more than an hour for the fundraiser, use all four segments with extensive local pitching, plus Rick's premium pitches.
Module Descriptions
(1:00) BILLBOARD: Rick forward promotes the show.
(10:28) SEGMENT A-1: first part of Rick's Rotary Club speech, followed by a non-premium pitch from Rick
outQ: "everything you expect and receive from public radio."
(2:22) SEGMENT A-2: Rick continues pitching the two premium packages we're offering of program-related merchandise. Include music under his pitching.
outQ: "a supporting member of public radio. Thanks." (music fade)
(14:04) SEGMENT B-1: Rick concludes his Rotary Club speech, and pitches the value of public radio
outQ: "during this membership campaign. Thanks a lot."
(2:39) SEGMENT B-2: Rick continues pitching the program-related premiums
outQ: "great feeling that comes with being a supporting member of public radio. Thanks a lot. " (music out)
(5:24) SEGMENT C-1: Rick has a short interview session with Jamie Blair Gould on tipping etiquette in restaurants in Europe, and how to choose a good local restaurant while traveling in Europe. Concludes with a generic pitch from Rick.
