Hi from Rick: Turn-On to Off-Season Touring

Dear Traveler,

Eager to start planning a 2015 trip to Europe? Then you'll be happy to know we've just launched our early-season 2015 dates for 10 great itineraries. Why just 10? Not every destination is a good fit for February–March travel, but the ones we've chosen really transcend the seasons (and save you enough money to brighten any gray day).

In our 10 off-season destinations, the fun doesn't set with the sun...it's just getting started. Fewer crowds, relaxing dinners, and cool comfort make even a winter getaway an ideal opportunity to recharge the soul — in just a few magical days and nights.

I love off-season travel. Getting to Europe is cheaper, and it's easier to find seats on the flight you want. Once you've arrived, you can wander through that pristine hill town in Sicily, ponder in Rome's Forum undisturbed, practice your French with students in the Paris Métro, and always find a table at a popular bar in Barcelona. In Venice, you can be alone atop St. Mark's bell tower and watch the clouds of your breath roll over the Byzantine domes of the church to a horizon of cut-glass Alps, as pigeons around you fidget and wonder, "Where are the tourists?"

Check out our lineup of early and affordable 2015 escapes in this month's Tour News. Then keep an eye out for an email (around August 15) announcing the roll out of the rest of our 2015 touring season. No matter when you plan to go, 2015 promises to be a great year for discovering more of Europe. I hope you can join us.

Happy travels,

Rick
