In May I'm giving myself a little vacation. I'm booked on our Best of Europe in 21 Days tour — the same route I drove in my minibus back in the 1970s and 1980s. It collects Europe's greatest hits into an amazing three-week route.
"From palm trees to snowballs" — perhaps the most thrilling juxtaposition of sights you can enjoy in a day of touring in Europe — is our nickname for driving from Italy's Cinque Terre to the heart of the Swiss Alps. And summertime is when that contrast is at its most delightful.
In this month's edition of Tour News we're featuring half a dozen tour itineraries that are especially summer-friendly. Imagine sunny days and long evenings in laid-back places like Italy's Lake Como, Tuscany's Lucca, and Slovenia's Lake Bled — or in vibrant cities like Paris, Rome, or Munich. From start to finish, we have lots of ways to make this summer's vacation one you'll savor for a long time to come.
One of the most fun ways to "try on" a tour is to browse through a real person's tour scrapbook — and in this month's Tour News we're featuring our annual Tour Scrapbook Contest winners. This year's crop of entries was especially strong. Have a dose of these at your own risk (strong urges to travel may result).
I'll have more to share about my Best of Europe trip in next month's Tour News. In the meantime, you can follow my travels on Facebook.
Here comes the sun.
