"Rick Steves' Italy's Dolce Vita" offers fresh perspectives on the best travel advice, including where to stay, what to see, and how to get around. Three episodes from the Rick Steves' Europe series are featured in this pledge event.
Description:
This March, traveling couch potatoes across the USA will travel with Rick on another public television travel special. Rick Steves' new two-hour Italy special gets you intimate with the unique ways locals embrace life along Italy's Amalfi Coast, in Tuscany, and in Italy's Hilltowns.
During pledge breaks, Rick entertains viewers with practical travel tips and the latest travel news from Europe. He also reminds supporters that "Public television is your next best thing to a plane ticket...and it just can't happen without your support."
Program Description:
Rick's Italy's Dolce Vita Pledge Special includes three half-hour episodes.
# 405: Italy's Amalfi Coast
Just south of Naples, we'll experience the breathtaking Amalfi Coast, the trendy resort of Positano, the limoncello charms of Sorrento, the ancient Greek temples at Paestum, and the iridescent Blue Grotto hidden beneath the enchanting Isle of Capri.
# 407: Tuscany's Dolce Vita
The small towns and rural charms of Tuscany give us a healthy dose of the "sweet life" as we hunt for truffles in an oak forest, nibble our way through an artichoke festival, share a farmhouse feast, and ride a classic convertible through the cypress groves of Mona Lisa's backyard.
# 408: Italy's Great Hill Towns
Connoisseurs of Italy find that its quintessential charms survive in its classic hill towns. From San Gimignano's medieval towers, to Cortona's charming lanes, to Orvieto's papal intrigue, to Civita di Bagnoregio's cliff-hanging vistas...all sit on lofty stone perches that now protect them only from the modern world.
