Rick Steves is hosting a two-hour Castles and Mountains travel special on (station date and time). He takes viewers on a two-hour journey through his favorite fortresses and to the tops of Europe's tallest peaks in three new episodes from his popular public television series, Rick Steves' Europe. Between each episode, Rick offers travel tips and a behind-the-scenes look at the production of the series.
Rick Steves' latest travel adventure is packed with legendary castles, half-timbered villages and dramatic Alps. After cruising the mighty Rhine and conquering Rick's favorite fortress, quench your thirst in a Munich beer hall. Then it's on to the Swiss Alps for a little slap dancing and yodeling. Rick makes alp cheese, helps out in a village fire drill, and discovers a mighty military hiding in simple village hay barns. For a thin-air finale, Rick rides as high as you can get in Europe — to the top of the mighty Jungfraujoch. For these vicarious travel thrills you don't need a passport and there's no risk of jet-lag.
