New Season of Rick Steves' Europe is Ready for Take-off

Steves' latest series of travel shows debuts this fall on KXXX.

City, State – As has been his production tempo since 1990, every two years Rick Steves produces a new series of travel shows featuring his favorite European destinations. This October, KXXX will air the newest season of Rick Steves' Europe. The 11 half-hour episodes range from Estonia to Bosnia-Herzegovina to Morocco.

To kick off this exciting new season of travel thrills, a one-hour special, Rick Steves' Andalucía: the Best of Southern Spain thunders into the arena like a proud 800-pound bull. It weaves together the region's rich mix of culture, cuisine, history, and natural wonders. The hour includes the major cites of Sevilla, Córdoba, and Granada; flamenco, sherry, and horses; dramatic white-washed hill towns; and fun in the Costa del Sol sun.

The 11 half-hour episodes in this new season of Rick Steves' Europe include four on Spain, three on the former Yugoslavia, and four covering Nordic Europe. In Spain, episodes include Córdoba & Granada, Andalucía with Gibraltar and Tangier, Basque Country, and Galicia (northwest Spain, the Camino de Santiago, and the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona). Covering the best of the former Yugoslavia, Steves dedicates episodes to Slovenia and Croatia, and then ventures from Dubrovnik into Bosnia-Herzegovina and Montenegro. Then, heading into Europe's far north, programs feature stately Stockholm, striking Oslo, the lavish beauty of Norway's fjord country, and an episode on Helsinki and Tallinn in Estonia.

Don't miss your flight! Rick Steves' Andalucía: The Best of Southern Spain airs Sunday, October X, at Xpm. The new series airs weekly starting October X, Mondays at Xpm on KXXX.

Rick Steves' film crew consists of Steves, producer Simon Griffith, cameraman Karel Bauer, and editor Steve Cammarano. The special is produced by Back Door Productions based at Rick Steves' Europe Through The Back Door Inc., presented by OPB, and distributed through American Public Television at no cost to public television stations nationwide.
