About the app
Rick Steves’ Audio Europe Version 2.0
Release date: June 21, 2012 (Android)
Release date: April 19, 2012 (Apple)
Last updated September 2013: Twenty-three new radio features on Belgium, Britain, Eastern Europe, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Scandinavia and Notable Travelers
The Rick Steves Audio Europe app organizes Rick's vast library of radio interviews and audio tours into geographic-specific playlists, so you can enjoy ready access to the information that relates specifically to your Europe travel plans. You'll get Rick's self-guided walking tours for dozens of Europe's top museums and sights — plus hundreds of tracks from Rick’s radio show covering travel tips and cultural insights.
The same great content is also available as a Podcast from iTunes or on our website in the Explore Europe section (find the "Listen" category for your desired country). You can also listen to our General Europe and Notable Travelers content here on the website.
- This app downloads and stores audio files on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch running iOS 4 or later. The Android version runs on Android 1.6 or higher. No Wi-Fi or cellphone connection is required to listen. (You will need a connection if you choose to add audio tracks later.)
- Download the audio files before you go or use a wi-fi hotspot in Europe to avoid incurring data charges.
- Handy PDF maps that complement the app's walking tours can be viewed on your device or printed from any computer.
- Audio content originates from Rick Steves' guidebooks and the 'Travel with Rick Steves' public radio program. Self-guided walking tours are excerpted from Rick Steves' country and city guidebooks.
