Orvieto

The Pozzo Etrusco d’ Aronne restaurant has closed; the staff has opened a new restaurant, Trattoria del Moro Aronne, located in the historical center near the Piazza Del Popolo at Via San Leonardo 7 (closed Tue, tel. 0763 342763, www.aronneorvieto.it.)

Transportation

If you're taking the train in Italy, ask for the family train discount ("Offerta Familia") when buying tickets at a counter; or, at a ticket machine, click "Yes" to the "Do you want ticket issue?” cue, then click "Familia." With the discount, families of 3-5 people with at least one child (age 12 or under) get 50 percent off the kids' tickets, and 20 percent off the adults'. The deal doesn't apply to all trains at all times, but it's worth asking about.
