Keep on Travelin' Playlist

Musical experiences from elegant evenings at the Budapest Opera to pulsing all-nighters at Belgium’s Tomorrowland electronic music festival draw travelers from around the globe. And for many, a certain song continues to bring back memories of Stockholm or Provence or the slope of a Swiss alp for years.

We asked our staff of avid travelers to share their favorite travel songs — songs about travel, songs about a favorite place in Europe, or songs that evoke a strong travel memory — and created a Keep on Travelin' playlist. For Marta, every international flight starts with Queen’s “I Want to Break Free.” The National's song "England" reminds Heather of her time as a young student in London coming into her own. And Led Zeppelin's "Ramble On" will always feature prominently in Cameron's Pantheon of timeless travel songs.

Give the playlist a listen the next time you're riding the rails between two great European cities or travel dreaming while cleaning your kitchen.
